My name is Stefan Varvaroi and I am a student here at WSU Vancouver, and my major is in Finance

My parents are originally from Romania but immigrated here 25 years ago. I was born in Oregon and raised here in Vancouver all my life.

The purpose of this blog is to serve as a space where I can practice publishing multimedia content, improve my communication skills, and share my interests with a wider audience. It will function as both a class project and a personal platform

I really like to be outside and doing something, I’m a very outgoing person, and I’m into a few different sports. I like tennis, soccer, basketball, football, volleyball, and bowling. And I have a big interest in cars.

My career goals focus on business and construction. I plan to grow my detailing business and gain the skills needed to work in construction. In the future, I want to manage larger projects and run my own construction-related business, combining entrepreneurship with hands-on experience.

BMW Enthusiast Graphic

My project is a lead banner for a car enthusiast blog focused on BMWs.
It will highlight BMW design, driving performance, and maintenance tips.
The goal is to inspire and inform BMW owners and fans.

My project explores how design, lighting, and repetition can transform a familiar subject into a dramatic composition. I chose my 2012 BMW F30 as the central subject because of my personal connection to it. The tunnel represents transition and movement, which pairs well with a car. Placing multiple versions of the same car inside the tunnel reinforces perspective and scale. This ties the design to the idea of journey and progression.

For my process, I researched digital posters and automotive advertisements to understand how brands use repetition, light, and shadow. I also looked at examples of tunnel photography to see how depth can create atmosphere. The design approach was to make the cars feel staged yet natural inside the tunnel space. I experimented with placement and lighting edits to create a sense of realism. My revision process focused on refining edges, adjusting brightness, and layering shadows so the cars blended with the environment.

Technically, I collected assets by cutting out images of my BMW using Photoshop’s selection tools. I adjusted each layer with transform tools to scale and angle them for proper perspective. Editing involved blending shadows with the burn tool and adjusting brightness/contrast to match the tunnel’s lighting. A challenge was preventing the cars from looking flat against the tunnel. To fix this, I adjusted saturation and added slight gradients for depth. In future projects, I will save versions at each stage, which makes revisions easier.

This design respects a diverse audience by presenting a common object, a car, in an artistic way that goes beyond brand or culture. It invites anyone to see the subject differently, not just as transportation but as part of an environment.
